In Memory of Louise Paetzke


September 1, 1939 - February 13, 2021

Louise J. Paetzke, age 81, of Winter, WI passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Essentia-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.

Louise Jane Krey was born September 1, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of Walter and Edith (Goelz) Krey. She was raised in Milwaukee where she graduated from Bayview High School in 1956. Louise went to work for the railroad after high school where she assisted with locating lost box cars. On June 18, 1960, Louise was joined in marriage to Hans Paetzke in Milwaukee. Together they moved to Sussex, WI where they began a family and Louise worked for Pepsi Company where she helped schedule maintenance and repairs.  She later worked as a school bus driver and delivering flowers for a local florist before retiring.  Louise and Hans moved to Winter, WI in 1993 where she enjoyed outdoor activities including, gardening, landscaping, fishing with her family and camping.  She also enjoyed big band music, writing children’s books, dancing with Hans and cooking for her family on the holidays.

Louise is survived by her three daughters, Pam Paetzke of Winter, Cindy (Steve) Booher of Merrill, WI, Brenda (Al) Schroeder of Greenfield, WI; four grandchildren, Catherine, Matthew, Stephanie and Cory; two great grandchildren, Branch and Everett; three siblings, Vivan Windus, Norma (Wayne) Salmon, both of Milwaukee, WI, Walter (Cherie) Krey of Delavan, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hans; and two sisters, Beatrice and Dorothy.

A funeral service celebrating Louise’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February19, 2021 at the Hayward Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Bacon officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Winter Cemetery in the spring.

Casket bearers will be Steve Booher, Al Schroeder, Cory Schroeder and Matthew Trimborn.
