In Memory of Lorraine Lunzer
Our community sadly lost a pillar on Monday, March 7, 2022, when Mrs. Lorraine Lunzer passed away from a battle with Alzheimer’s. Her contributions to the lives of many include supporter of Meals on Wheels in the Twin Cities and growing her own chapter, Luck Co-op board member, Member of the Friends of the Milltown Public Library, Pioneer Home volunteer and hundreds of quilted blankets made and given to local hospitals and veterans’ homes. She was an amazing Businesswoman retiring from General Mills (previously Pillsbury) in 2001, artist, entrepreneur, author, award winning quilter and fabric artist.
Lorraine is survived by her husband of 59 years, Michael Lunzer; her sons, Michael Lunzer Jr. (LeAnn) and Edward Lunzer (Shelby); her grandson, Carson Lunzer; and her brother, Jim Zak (Marlene). She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher; her parents, Francis and Genevie Zak; two sisters, Caroll Janovsky and Joanne Garett.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as those she reached but never met. There will be a small private ceremony for immediate family only. Help her kindness continue by donating to or volunteering at one of the organizations Lorraine loved or the Alzheimer’s society.
Arrangements are entrusted to Rowe Funeral Home and the Northwest Wisconsin Cremation Center in Milltown.
