Loren R. Johnson, 87, of Centuria, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Divine of St. Croix Falls.

He was born on October 4, 1935, in Cumberland, Wisconsin, the son of Raymond and Lillie Johnson.

Loren met the love of his life Peggy Handlos while attending college at UW Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin. They were married on August 15, 1959. Loren and Peggy moved to Racine, Wisconsin where Loren taught High School Industrial Arts. They also lived in Olympia, WA when Loren served in the United States Army and then returned to their home in Racine until 1965. They then moved to Peggy’s childhood family farm near Centuria where they have resided since. He enjoyed their home on Balsam Lake since 1991 during the warm months.

Loren was an avid speed skater and Harley Davidson enthusiast. He served on many boards and committees in the Polk County Area for many years. He was an avid sports fan for any of the sports his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participated in.

Loren is survived by his sons, Tony (Heidi) Johnson, Daniel (April) Johnson, and Scott (Bobbi) Johnson; daughters, Tara (Brandon) Johnson and Tanya (Eldon) Tendrup; sixteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, brother, Roger (Leah) Johnson and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond, and Lillie (Carlson) Johnson, his wife, Peggy, and his brother David Johnson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Centuria on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 12:30 P.M. with Pastor Jeffrey Seelow officiating.

The Johnson Family will greet visitors at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Centuria on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at 12:30 P.M.

Loren will be laid to rest at St. John’s Cemetery, Centuria following the service with full military rites.

Please join the family for a light lunch and continued fellowship at the church following the service.
