In Memory of Linda L. Koch
Linda L. Koch, 77, a resident of Siren passed away on November 9, 2023.
Linda lived life on her own terms from start to finish. Her home base varied from Longview, WA in the early years to Pullman, WA and Laramie, WY where she acquired her BA from WSU and her MA from the University of Wyoming to Las Cruces, NM where she had a career at the New Mexico State University. After retiring, she settled in Siren where she shared her life with Karen Fey and adored pet Welshterrier (Abby) and occasional visits with her nephew, Bradley; sister, Sandra and brother in law, Larry.
Linda was in her element during her career in the athletic department at New Mexico State University. She helped develop the women’s athletic department first as a coach of the women’s volleyball and the basketball teams and later as the assistant athletic director shaping and guiding the direction of the athletic department itself. Linda touched the lives of many young athletes who looked to her for direction and support.
Linda continued to nurture others during her retirement years when she and her spouse, Karen Fey moved permanently to Siren. Despite missing the heat of the New Mexico desert, she quickly learned to love the serenity living on Little Sand Lake. She found pleasure watching the active animal life on the lake and puttering about the property. She appreciated the sense of community she found in Siren, especially her neighbors, Linda, Rudy and Doug Chladil.
Above all, Linda relished her life together with Karen.
Per Linda’s request, no services will be held.
Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
