Leland Warren Giesel, age 95, of Barron, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at his home.  

He was born on June 4, 1927 in Canton, Kansas to Freeman and Mary (Becker) Giesel.

On November 2, 1949 he married Mary Litwiller in Michigan. He was a dairy farmer for most of his life. He also worked for the local feed mills in the area.

Leland is survived by children; Jeff and Deanna Giesel of Louise, TX; Dane and Sheri Giesel of Barron, Eric Giesel of Barron, Marlon and Connie Giesel of Grant, AL, Ken and Ronda Giesel of Barron, Marisa and Patrick Wedel of Barron, Kristin and Steve Mininger of Orrville, OH, Tony and Wendy Giesel of Barron, and Derek and Angie Giesel of New Auburn; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Giesel; sister, Arlene (Willis) Koehn; brother-in-law, Verle (Marian) Litwiller; sister-in-laws, Donna Wiebe and Wanda Litwiller; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; a grandson, a brother and a sister.

Funeral services for Leland Giesel will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the Barron Mennonite Church in Barron. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday morning. Burial will be at the Barron Mennonite Cemetery in Barron.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
