In Memory of Larry D. Tucker


January 14, 1950 - June 9, 2024

Larry Dale Tucker, age 74, of Grantsburg, WI, passed away at home in the care of his loving wife on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

Larry was born January 14, 1950, to parents Clifford and Imogene (Powell) Tucker in Wausau, WI. He spent his youth in Siren, WI, where he attended Coomer and Siren schools. Being a very hard worker and not afraid of manual labor went right into trying many jobs out of school: tree planting, potato harvesting, Rolite Trailer, car washes and a Barrel factory in St. Paul.

He attended the Advotech Machinist school and met the love of his life: Patsy Lee Richter. On August 9, 1969, they married, at Zion Lutheran in Trade Lake, Wi. Finally settling in Trade Lake, raised their children; Shari and Duke. He took much pride in providing for his family any way he could, including: Electric Machinery, Mpls. Moline, Johnson feed Mill, driving for Y&S Disposal, driving for ADRC, Trade Lake recycling attendant, and delivering the Pioneer Press on a daily basis for 26 years, with Patsy.

Larry was a man of many hobbies and interests. You could find him at demolition derbies, cruising on his motorcycle, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, reciting Westerns that were watched many times over and over, and tinkering with small engines and cars in many ways.

Cooking was one of Larry’s many talents, and he enjoyed challenging Patsy with preparing and serving for the Luck Golf Club, soups for Christian Women’s Club, weekend retreats for Wood Lake Bible Camp, Luther Point Bible Camp, and many years of family Labor Day picnics.

Family vacations included Mount Rushmore, Canada, and Illinois. For their 50th anniversary, Larry and Patsy treated themselves to a cruise to Alaska to honor their everlasting relationship.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Patsy; children, Sharon Glover and Kevin (Roxanne) Tucker; siblings, Helen Peasley, Frances (Barry) Hofecker, Lyle (Paula) Tucker, Robert Tucker, James Tucker, and brother-in-law, Roger McKee; grandchildren, Jacob (Ashley) Glover, Rebecca Glover, Nathan Glover, Rachel (Caleb) Glover, Hope (Dan) Mathews, Olivia Tucker. Great-grandchildren; Persephone and Astrid Willoughby, Isla Glover, Barrett Hamel, and McKenzie Mathews, as well as many nieces, nephews, their families, and many special friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Imogene Tucker; sisters, Patricia Stariha and Rosemary McKee; In-laws, Robert and Dorothy Richter; brother-in-laws, Richard Peasley, Bob, Bill, Dean and Doug Richter; nieces and nephews lost far too young, Anna Richter, Dale Peasley, Kyle Richter, Marrisa Ann Tucker, and grandson-to-be, Cody Ince.

Family would like to say a special Thank-You to St. Croix Hospice caregivers for their dedication, special care, and prayers.

Larry’s memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM (visitation from 10-11 AM) at Siren Covenant Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Siren Covenant Church, check memo to: The Bridge Christian School.

Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home.
