In Memory of Lana M. Kurtzhals
Peacefully and unexpectedly, Lana Kurtzhals went to join her family on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 in Cameron, WI.
Lana was born May 15, 1950, to Edwin and Adeline (Koepp) Slagstad of Rice Lake, WI.
She was raised on the family farm and acquired her work ethic at a young age. Lana grew up with her brothers Bob and Dick. She lost her mother at a young age but continued to exhibit great strength as she poured her heart into everything she accomplished. She graduated from Barron High School in 1968. Lana began her employment with the Air Force in 1970 for 4 years. On December 19, 1977 she was married to Michael Kurtzhals of Cameron.Together they raised the fun-loving boys, Jeff and Chris Kurtzhals. Whenever you ran into Lana you were greeted with her infectious smile. She always made time for her friends and prioritized making them feel extra special. She cherished her family very much and always expressed it openly. Lana had a humble heart and an accepting attitude towards others. She loved her two fur babies Rudy and Maddy. Lana was a community servant who willingly supported many local clubs, fundraisers, and rural activities. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Packers.
Lana is survived by her son Jeff (Billie) Kurtzhals of Rice Lake, Grandchildren, Brittany (Kyle) Bloom, Brett Kurtzhals, Trent Kurtzhals, Kiara Kurtzhals, Silver Kurtzhals, Cole (Lexi) Johnson, Caiden Johnson; Great Grandchildren, Aliana Peet, Nevaeh Johnson, Braylen Johnson, Reed Johnson. Lana’s brothers Bob (Karen) and Dick Slagstad and many nieces and nephews.
Lana was preceded in death by her husband Michael; a son Christopher Kurtzhals: her parents, Edwin and Adeline Slagstad and many other family members.
Fellowship will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake from 4-6:30PM, with a service to begin at 6:30PM.
