Kim Wayne VanGuilder, age 60, a resident of Spooner, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 surrounded by his family after fighting a short battle with cancer.  

Kim was born on January 24, 1957, in Princeton, Minnesota to parents Lowell and Vernell (Casper) Van Guilder.  He lived in the Cannon Falls, Minnesota area until he was 15 at which time they family moved to Shell Lake. On October 24, 1981, he was united in marriage to Cheri Yeazle in Trego, Wisconsin.  Kim worked as a Quality Control Inspector for T&T Tool for 20 years, and had previously owned The Outdoor Store in Shell Lake.  He was a devoted Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan, avid fisherman, and loved technology- especially listening to music on the speakers that he recently built.  

Kim is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife Cheri, 4 daughters: Kristen (Joshua) Luedtke, Jamie (David) Scott, Erin VanGuilder, Tanya Stovring (Kurt Foss), 7 grandchildren: Jay and Aylana Luedtke, Austin, Kaylee, and Levi Scott, Carter VanGuilder and Ariana VanGuilder- Campbell, his mother Vernell (Dean) Witt, mother-in-law Harriet Yeazle, step mother Laura Van Guilder, brother Joel (Terri) Van Guilder, sisters Lorie (Weldon “Bud”) Suhr, Judy VanGuilder, step brothers Don Bauer, Tim (Joann) Bauer, Jim (Kim) Bauer, John (Cindy) Bauer, Mark Bauer, step sister Nancy (Gary) Harlander, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family.

Kim is preceded in death by his father Lowell Van Guilder.

A memorial service for Kim VanGuilder will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017, at 1pm, at the Spooner Funeral Home with gathering of friends and family being held on Sunday, October 1, from 4-7pm at the Funeral Home and also on Monday from noon to 1 prior to the service.
