Kathryn “Kathy” Barbara Hanson Age 81, of Sarona, WI, died Wednesday, September 11, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at her home.

She was born on November 27, 1942 in Superior, WI to Earl and Evelyn (Peterson) Branstrom. Kathy graduated from Southwest High School in Minneapolis, MN and then graduated from Business School. She was married to Dale Hanson on June 16, 1962 in Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Kathy was a legal secretary with the same firm for over 46 years. She enjoyed golfing, painting, traveling, sewing, singing in the church choir, and reading. Kathy loved to entertain friends and family. She was a pioneer doing charity work and fundraising; her legacy will live on forever because of the work she has done in the past. Kathy loved her family and being with her grandchildren. Her golf leagues, happy hour ladies, and church friends were always a special part of Kathy’s life.

She is survived by her husband, Dale; her daughters, Kim (Steve) Payne and Krisy (Aaron) Marx; grandchildren, Andrew Marx, Audrey Marx, Ryan (Robyn) Payne and Tori (Dean) Philip; 4 great grandchildren; a sister; a special sister, Carolyn Cleveland; brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews and other special family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Evelyn Branstrom; and brothers, Jack and Gene.

Funeral Services will be held at 1PM Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Long Lake Lutheran Church, W3114 Church Road, Sarona, WI, 54870, Rev. Rodger Prois officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the charity of your choice.
