Karen Elisabeth Knoop, 76, of Shell Lake died Monday, September 26, 2016 at Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner. She was born January 7, 1940 in Des Moines, IA, to John and Lula (Norman) Charleton. She graduated from high school in Anaheim, CA. She was married in Spooner, WI, on December 5, 1964 to Glenn Knoop, and they raised a family. She then went on to earn a degree in Horticulture from White Bear Lake Community College. Karen was a very accomplished gardener, was dedicated to her Lord and her church, hosted many missionaries, and even baked the communion bread for church.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Knoop of Shell Lake; her children: Steven (Julie) Knoop of Spooner, Kim Elkins (Rich Shine) of Spokane, WA, Kristen (Stephen) Yurek of AZ, Bonnie (Rodney) Hibbard of Shell Lake and John Knoop of Hayward; 5 grandchildren: Daniel, Nicole, Britteny, Caleb and Lucas; her beloved Golden Retreiver, Muffy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 30, 2016 at Shell Lake Full Gospel Church with Rev. Virgil Amundson officiating. Burial will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans' Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers are Steve Knoop, Mark Knoop, Paul Knoop, Doug VanDerhoof, Allan Lawrence and Rodney Lawrence. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Skinner Funeral Home of Shell Lake is serving the family.
