In Memory of Judith Bujniewicz

December 12, 1944 - August 6, 2021

Judith Rae “Judy” Bujniewicz, age 76, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, August 6, 2021 at her residence in Winter, WI.

She was born on December 12, 1944 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Raymond Julius and Lorraine Marie (Rietschel) Greis.

She was united in marriage to James Joseph Bujniewicz on August 21, 1965 in Chicago, IL.  Judy graduated from Luther High School South with the class of 1962. She helped her husband manage the Berwyn Barons Football Team and worked as one of the public relations assistants. Judy also sold Tupperware for several years and most of them as a leading saleswoman for her area.

The family later moved to Winter, WI. Judy worked for Hargas Glass, where she developed her love for glass making. She worked for the Winter School cooking and serving the students’ lunch. She and Jim managed the Rustic Inn for several years before Judy left to be the head chef at The Chalet. She worked at The Chalet for over 36 years and developed many cherished friendships with people near and far. Judy was very well known for her wonderful filets. Judy also had her own stained glass studio, Judy’s Glass Garden.

Judy took great pride in being a mother and guided her daughters and their peers through both Sunday School and Girl Scouts. She was beyond a kind and generous woman who always was willing to give without ever expecting anything in return.

She is survived by her husband, James Joseph Bujniewicz of Winter; her daughters, Denise Lorraine Johnson of Winter and Tracy Sally Bujniewicz of Madison; her grandchildren, Mitchell James Johnson and Madison Lou Johnson; and her nieces, Jodie (Mark) Phillips and Michele Crosswhite.

In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her siblings, Wayne Greis and Jeanne Greis.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Winter. Interment will be held privately.
