Joyce (Schmidt) Rose passed away peacefully on May 12, 2019, at the age of 93.  She was born to Baldwin and Otillie Schmidt on January 27, 1926, in Cumberland, WI.

She was an avid knitter, teaching several of the area young people to knit. In earlier years she did a lot of sewing, making clothes for her children and several wedding dresses for various people.  She participated in many of the area craft shows. She worked several summers at the Stokely bean plant and looked forward each spring to working at the Rose Garden in Frederic. Gardening was one of her passions. 

She is survived by daughters, Betty Knutson, Joyce Greener and Rose Houtari; sons, Gerald “Toad” and wife Tara, Ronald (Linda); 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon and sons, Edwin and Duane.

Memorial services will be held at Clam Falls Lutheran Church, 3376 65th Street, Frederic, WI, on Friday, May 17th – visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.
