John Paul Williams, age 67, of Hayward, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Vitacare Assisted Living. He was born on August 14, 1955, in Beloit, WI, the son of William and Beverly (Smith) Williams.

John was raised in Hayward, WI, and graduated from Hayward High School in 1973. He attended WITI in Rice Lake where he studied Wood Technology. He took a job with Sterling Custom Homes in Fondu Lac, WI where he also served in the Navy Reserves. John moved back to the family farm in Hayward in 1980. He started at Trusswork’s in 1985 and worked there until his retirement in 2007. John wore many hats there, from laborer to foreman, as well as dispatcher. He also hauled gravel for Williams Gravel and did some custom carpentry work. He loved the Northwoods and living and working on the family farm.

He is survived by his brother, James Williams of San Diego, CA; nephews, Jason and Alexander Williams; his nieces, Julie Green, Jennafer Williams, and Stacy Williams; his sisters-in-law, Adeline and Lavinia Williams; his stepchildren, Creda Dobson and Jakob Henson; and his five step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry and Jeff Williams; his sister, Shirley Isaacson; a sister-in-law, Reni Williams; and an infant brother, Gary.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Stone Lake Wesleyan Church, 16838 W First Street, in Stone Lake, where visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of the service. Rev. Timothy Young will officiate. There will be a light lunch following the service at the church.
