In Memory of John "Jack" A. Storry


December 10, 1942 - November 16, 2024

Pastor John (Jack) Storry passed away on November 16, 2024 at Dove Healthcare in St. Croix Falls, WI from complications related to his third stroke. He was born to Aldrich and Charlotte Storry on December 10, 1942, in Grand Rapids, MN.

Jack graduated from Hillcrest Academy in Fergus Falls, MN in 1961. In 1962, he began working at Northwest Airlines as a ticket and gate agent. In 1964 he was drafted into the United States Army and served from 1964-1966 in military intelligence.

After his time in the army, Jack returned to Northwest Airlines and worked there until 1978. During his time at Northwest Airlines, he worked at JFK International Airport in New York, Washington National Airport in Washington D.C., Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and Hector International Airport in Fargo, ND.

While working at JFK International Airport he met his future wife, Carol Anderson from Milltown, WI. The two were wed on March 19, 1965, and they were married for fifty-nine years.

In the spring of 1978, Jack felt the call to serve in the pastoral ministry. He attended Lutheran Brethren Seminary in Fergus Falls, MN, and graduated in 1981 as the top student in his class.

Jack served in the ministry for twenty-eight years and served congregations in Barnesville, MN, Marysville, WA and Portland, OR. He retired from full-time ministry in 2009. After this time he served two churches on an interim basis in Ferndale, WA and Yuma, AZ.

Jack is survived by his wife Carol; son Todd, grandsons Andrew (Vania), Benjamin; and granddaughter Allison. He is also survived by his brothers Paul, Mark, Aharon (Lisa); and his sister Rebecca plus numerous nephews and nieces.
