John Eugene LaFond passed away on October 30, 2022 at the Christian Community Home in Osceola Wisconsin.

John was born in Olympia, Washington on October 15, 1928 and made his home in St. Paul, MN and Mankato, MN with last years of life in Frederic, WI.

He enjoyed photography, traveling the country on motorcycle to sight-see and to participate in racquetball tournaments. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also volunteered his time driving for the Red Cross.
Photographer for State of Minnesota Highway Dept. and Mankato State University, St. Thomas Academy class of 47. Korean War Veteran.

Preceded in death by parents; Eugene, Louise. brothers; Robert, Tom, wife Helen (Hockert).

Survived by siblings; Eugene, Mary (Chuck) Medved. Children; Richard (Cindy), Suzanne (Curt) Douma, Nancy Chenal, Helen (Dave) Lucente, Joan, Jeanne (David) Hass, Geri (Bobby) Stovall. 21 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, many cousins and friends.

Rite of Christian burial mass to be held at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Frederic, WI. Saturday Nov. 5th at 11:00 am. Eternal rest grant unto him, O’Lord and perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Easter Seals or Boys Town in John’s name.

Arrangements are entrusted to Rowe Funeral Home and the Northwest Wisconsin Cremation Center in Milltown.
