John Allen Mahlum Age 72, of Rice Lake, WI, died Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Rice Lake.

He was born on August 8, 1951 in Eau Claire, WI to George and Adeline (Heideman) Mahlum.

John graduated from Memorial High School in Eau Claire in 1969 and then he attended WITC in wood techniques and graduated in 1979. He was married to Connie Blechinger on July 6, 1974 in Eau Claire. John worked for Carpenter Union 1074 for 30 years retiring from V.S. Construction in Rice Lake. He enjoyed ice fishing, deer hunting, working in his shop and helping out his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Mahlum; a brother, David (Dawn) Mahlum; 3 sisters, Betty (Romaine) Bergh, Barb (Dan) Cotts and Ann (Tom) Mattison; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Adeline Mahlum; and a brother, Gary Mahlum.

A celebration of his life will be held from 4-7PM Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake.
