In Memory of JoAnn J. Tyler
JoAnn Justine (Brackee) Tyler, age 89, of Luck, Wisconsin, passed peacefully on June 30, 2024.
JoAnn was born in rural Clayton/Joel on July 5, 1934, to Rudolph and Esther (Littlefield) Brackee. She attended Clayton Schools and graduated in 1952. After graduation, she attended Polk County Normal School Teacher’s College in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, and received her teacher's degree/certificate in 1954.
She met the love of her life, Alvin A. Tyler, on a blind date and married at Elim Lutheran Church in Range, Wisconsin on June 4, 1955. JoAnn taught at Maple Valley, a one-room schoolhouse until their first son was born in 1958. Together they were blessed with three children; Tim Alvin, Terri Ann, and Michael Gerald. She was a homemaker until the children were all in school, and then she worked as a teacher’s aide for Luck Schools for thirty years. After retirement, JoAnn worked for a few years part-time helping Bob and Diane Dueholm out at the Cardinal Shop in Luck.
JoAnn was a member of the Bone Lake Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Aide Organization and every year she would bake pies and helped service hungry Polk County fair-goers at the Bone Lake Lutheran Church booth. She loved getting together every other Friday with the Bone Lake Church quilting group and sewed many beautiful quilts. JoAnn was also a member of the women’s league at the Frederic Bowling Alley. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, cooking, bowling, crocheting, puzzles, crafting, and visiting the occasional casino. JoAnn also loved camping and visiting with family and friends. She had a heart of gold!
