In Memory of Jeffrey 'Jeff' Foerst
Jeffrey John Foerst, 66, of Luck, Wisconsin, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 9, 2022.
Jeff was born on July 27, 1955, in Superior, Wisconsin, the son of John “Jack” and Elizabeth “Betty” Foerst.
Growing up, he lived in Seattle, Washington but spent quite a bit of time with his grandparents and cousins on a farm in Superior, Wis.
Jeff worked very hard all his life, he attended a specialty school in Missouri and took a job in Texas where he worked at Brake Check. After moving back to Wisconsin he worked at Bilanca in Osceola, Lee Logging in Dresser, True Tire in St. Croix Falls, specializing in alignments, Penta Wood Products in Siren, and Cummings Lumber in Frederic. He attended truck driving school in North Dakota and drove for a couple of years but decided that he didn’t like being away from home.
Jeff had a love for the outdoors, he and his brother Jake cut, split, and stacked wood on their 40 acres of land in their off time. He built his home on that land and then acquired another piece of property where he built a barn and shed in which his family all pitched in to help. Jeff loved tractors, and hunting and he raised cows for a few years. He was also a traveler, living in Texas right out of high school. He also traveled to Alaska, Washington, Montana, Ohio, the Dakota’s and more. His favorite place to visit and where he spent a lot of time was Lake Superior, Cornucopia, and Herbster. He loved to walk, he and his dog Fred put a lot of miles on the trails, and at times his sister Jerette and niece Cassae would join them.
Jeff’s love for his family, nieces, and nephews was so special. He very rarely missed a birthday, he loved family gatherings. His home, according to him, was the most beautiful place in the world. Jeff had a huge heart and a gentle soul, we will miss him tremendously.
Jeff was the oldest of four children, he leaves to celebrate his memory, his sisters Julie (Jerry) Erickson and Jerette (Ron) Peterson, his brother, Jake (Paula) Foerst, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents Jack and Betty, his great-nephew River.
