In Memory of Jeffery B. Coddington
Jeffery Bryan Coddington, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2023, at his residence in Stone Lake, WI.
He was born on May 24, 1956, in Hayward, WI, the son of Dale and Mary (Young) Coddington.
He was united in marriage to Terri Helwig on February 6, 1977, although they separated, they remained good friends until his death. They had two children, Crystal and Bryan.
Jeff started his career logging with his family before joining the Hayward Public Schools as a bus driver. He continued working as a custodian and maintenance supervisor for the next 21 years before starting his own construction company. Most recently Jeff worked for the Namekagon Transit Authority from which he retired last year.
Jeff and his brothers raced stock cars in Rice Lake for many years. He was a talented woodworker and painter and took great pride in hand painting the sponsor logos on their stock cars. He also enjoyed taking his kids camping with his parents and extended family. He liked summer drives in his Corvette and teaching himself how to play the guitar. Jeff also donated his time to the Lions Club, overseeing the Cranberry Crate Derby for many years and to the Stone Lake Historical Society.
He is survived by his children, Crystal Chance of Stone Lake, WI, and Bryan (Emily) Coddington of McFarland, WI; his grandchildren, Brenna, Riley, Natalie, and Ivey; his siblings, Dale (Kelly) Coddington, Tim (Lori) Coddington, Tammy (Dan) Diekman, Becky Melton, Randy Coddington, and Laura (Chuck) Graham; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Per Jeff’s wishes, there will be no public services.
