Jeanne Marie “Toots” Tovsen, age 68, passed away at the Willow Ridge Healthcare Center in Amery, Wisconsin, on December 23, 2023.

Jeanne was born to Eugene and Cecelia Scheel on November 12, 1955, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Toots loved to craft and make things. She was a profound knitter and crocheter. She enjoyed painting ceramics as well. Everything she made, she gave away to those who would love them. Toots loved animals, especially her companion and best friend Zeus. She was a very patriotic woman, she was the President of the Women’s Auxiliary for the Krauss-Hartig VFW. She was incredibly proud of her son, James, and his outstanding career as a Marine. Her granddaughter, Amelya, meant the world to her. Jeanne had a big heart and much love to give, she will be dearly missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Cecelia Scheel, and brothers, Roger and Ronald Scheel.

Jeanne is survived by her son, James Tovsen, granddaughter, Amelya Tovsen, ‘best friend’, Zeus, and siblings, Douglas (Sherry) Scheel, Jeff (Marianne) Scheel, Greg Scheel, Donny Scheel, and Tim (Shawn) Scheel, as well as her family at the Willow Ridge Healthcare Center and MANY nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends who loved her deeply.

A Celebration of Life and inurnment will be held at a later date in the spring.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
