In Memory of Janice M. Miller


March 6, 1942 - January 19, 2024

Janice Marie Miller, 81 of Amery, WI passed away on January 19, 2024 at her home in Amery.

Janice was born in Milwaukee, WI to Vin and Violet Ericson on March 6, 1942.

The Ericson Family resided in Hudson, WI and subsequently relocated to Amery. Janice attended and graduated from Amery where she met the love of her life, Arlo Miller. The couple was united in marriage on August 25, 1962. In August of 1967, they welcomed their adopted son Kurt to their home in Golden Valley, MN. Janice then attended North Hennepin Community College where she graduated as a registered nurse. She then worked for North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN for 27 years. Janice was an avid quilter and enjoyed getting together with her dear friends to create the most beautiful quilts. If you have one of her quilts you were special to her. She was also a lover of all animals. Over the years she had many Persian cats and two dogs. Animals held a special place in her big heart.

Janice is survived by her son, Kurt (Sandy) Miller; grandchildren, Baylee “Peanut Girl” Miller and Tia (Paul) Miller; sister-in-law, Marlys Kleppe; nieces and nephews, Chris Sorensen, Todd Kleppe, Tim Kuhn and Tom Kuhn; nieces, Lynn Jacob and Tracey Bazille; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Easton, Finnley and Thomas; as well as her loyal friend, Jan L. Miller.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Vin and Violet Ericson; husband, Arlo Miller; mother and father-in-law, Lawrence and Marie Miller; brother-in-laws, Lars Kleppe and Jerry Kuhn; nephew, Lawrence Sorensen; and sister, Vi Ann Kuhn.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to send donations in Janice’s name to the Arnell Memorial Humane Society.

The Miller Family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Adoray Home Health and Hospice (Jen N.) and our friend, Patty Nelson.

An outdoor celebration of life for family and friends will be held at the family farm that she loved so much.
