In Memory of Janice Daggy


January 1, 1941 - October 20, 2021

Janice Maureen Daggy (Wekkin), age 80, a resident of Webster, WI passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at her home with her loved ones by her side.

Janice was born on January 1, 1941 to parents Robert and Fleda Wekkin in Roberts, WI.

She graduated from Roberts High School where she loved singing in the choir and was a cheerleader.

She married her first husband, Leland Johnson and they lived in Roberts where they had two children, Leianne and Kurtis.

Janice married her second husband, Frank Fleischhaker and they moved to St. Paul, MN and co-owned Esquire Lounge on University Avenue. In 1970 they moved to Webster, WI and had their son, Robbie. Together they owned and operated the Log Gables and other businesses. Janice also worked at the Burnett County Office.

On February 14, 1986 Janice married Thomas Daggy. They had a love for Chocolate Labs and raised many of them along with other beloved dogs. Janice bartended at many different places in the Webster area and worked at Diamond Auto Body.

In recent years she enjoyed peace and quiet at her home in the country and loved the many visits from her children, grandchildren, niece Carol Hoffman, and many other family members and friends. She enjoyed reading, cooking, feeding the birds, her time with her dog Deuce and doing her daily crossword puzzle from the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Janice is preceded in death by the love of her life, Tom Daggy; parents, Robert and Fleda Wekkin; daughter, Leianne Doriott; infant son, Bradley Johnson; sisters, Loretta Gumphrey and Roberta (Birdie) Tripp; and brother, Ken Wekkin.

She is survived by her children, Kurtis (Bobbie) Johnson, Robbie Fleischhacker, and her beloved dog, Deuce; grandchildren, Sharal’anee’ (Thomas) Staples-Skinaway; Laracia Staples, Ryan Kanke, Billie Jo Johnson, Karter Johnson, Brandin (Cindy) Johnson, Robert Fleischhacker, Arianna Fleischhacker; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Thank you to the many friends and family for the words of comfort and prayers during this time. A special thank you to Janice’s granddaughters, Billie Jo and Laracia and niece Carol for all the love, comfort and care they provided along with the exceptional St. Croix Hospice team.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM (visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.

Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
