Janice Dawn Snider, age 65, of Hayward, died Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at St Mary’s Hospital in Duluth after chronic health issues including NASH and renal system failure.

Janice was born October 1, 1958, in Chippewa Falls, WI the daughter of Jerry and Adeline (Roder) Mense. She shared a birthday with her father Jerry. Janice grew up in the town of Wheaton and attended Chippewa Falls High School. She worked as a bartender at the Moccasin Bar and Wildlife Museum where she affectionately received the nickname of “Ice”. Janice most recently worked at Kwik Trip greeting customers with a smile as a cashier until her early retirement due to her health. She loved reading, spending time with family and friends, camping, traveling when she could, watching the Packers and NASCAR’s Rusty Wallace. On July 19, 1999, Janice married her soulmate Randy A. Snider. They celebrated 24 years of marriage.

Janice is survived by her husband, Randy; daughter Gerri Jean (Larson) LaFave (Richard) of Mora, MN; son Billie Joe Larson, of Hayward; Grandchildren Richelle LaFave (Zack Parks) of Minneapolis, MN, Brandon Tweet of Foley, MN, Richard (Shauna) LaFave St. Cloud, MN, Nikki LaFave of Mankato, MN; sisters Evelyn (Jim) Grossklaus, Eau Claire, and Linda Bowe of Chippewa Falls; brothers Dean (JoAnn) Mense of Durand and Lorry (Renee Kittleson) Mense of Stanley; sisters-in-law Su Mense and Pam (Wally) Kruk; 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents; brother Dale Mense; and brother-in-law Martin Bowe.

A Celebration of Life and Luncheon will be held from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, Saturday May 11th at Hayward’s Veterans Community Center.
