In Memory of Janice A. Heier


October 10, 1948 - June 10, 2022

Janice Ann (Crosby) (Wieser) Heier, age 73, an exceptionally kind, warmhearted and beloved lady, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2022 in her Webster home surrounded by her family and love.

Janice was born to Oris “Bud” Crosby and Amelia “Millie” (Lewis) Crosby on October 10, 1948. She and her twin sister Linda were welcomed home by their big brother Keith, and several years later they were joined by their little sister Cheryl.

Janice attended Webster High School and graduated in 1966. Following graduation Janice attended the Minnesota School of Business, Twin Cities Campus and received a degree in accounting.

Janice married her high school sweetheart Greg Wieser on December 12, 1970. They established their life in Webster where they worked together to build a home, several successful businesses, countless life-long friendships, and most significantly a family with their daughters Sheri and Jillian. Their partnership ended unexpectedly with the loss of Greg in August 1994.

On September 15, 2001 Janice married her best friend, and biggest fan, Mike Heier in Webster’s Grace United Methodist Church. Her marriage to Mike was filled with laughter, travel, dancing. Janice also gained a son, Shawn and two daughters, Katrina and Darcie through their marriage.

Janice loved her family and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them and sharing in their events and activities. She was the heart of family holidays, and an incredibly good cook.

Janice enjoyed working with others and serving her community. Over the years she was a valued employee for several businesses, including Burnett County Health and Human Services, Voyager Village, and the St. Croix Casino. Janice was also self-employed as Mary Kay consultant. She was active in her community and a willing volunteer whenever one was needed. Janice was a member of the Webster Lionesses and served as the treasurer for the Northland Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary for many years. Janice also served as an election poll worker.

Janice was always willing to help others and was a wonderful friend to many. She enjoyed participating in league sports alongside her valued teammates. Her good nature, her laughter, and her quick wit will be missed by many.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Millie; first husband, Greg; brothers-in-law, Steve and Darryl; stepmother, Orma Engstrom Crosby; and her father and mother-in-law Bud and Dale Connor.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mike; daughters, Sheri (Jeff) Gatten, Jill (Jake) Lamb, Katrina Heier, Darcie Heier; son, Shawn (Stephanie) Heier; grandchildren, Isabella, Cullen, Felicity, Aiden, Blake, Grace, Ivan, Ava, Ashton, AdaLee, Lilli, Abby and Autumn; brother, Keith (Connie) Crosby; sisters, Linda Wieser and Cheryl Crosby; many nieces and nephews; along with other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM (visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 PM) at the Grace United Methodist Church in Webster, WI A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM (visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 PM) at the Grace United Methodist Church in Webster, WI with a gathering following the service at the Black and Orange.

Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
