In Memory of Jane R. Minkel


February 16, 1951 - October 18, 2024

Jane Rowland Minkel Age 73, of Shell Lake, WI, died Friday, October 18, 2024 at Aspirus St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth, MN surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on February 16, 1951 in St. Paul, MN to Alphonse and Patricia (O’Brien) Liedl.

Jane graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1969, attended UW Eau Claire and graduated from WITC in secretarial administration. She was married to Bradley Minkel on August 12, 1972 in Rice Lake. Jane worked as an onboarding specialist for a company that provides autism therapy in the St. Louis area. She was active in college and in her adult life in theater/plays and sang throughout the community with her many talents that were given to her. She enjoyed music, decorating, crafting, sewing and loved being with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Bradley Victor Minkel; 2 daughters, Kate (Andrew) Melton of Spooner, WI and Amy Minkel (Rob Welch) of Wentzville, MO; 6 grandchildren, Abby, Chase (Maryn), Carter (Grace), Conner (Carson), Brayden and Camden; 2 great grandchildren, Owen and Mollie; siblings, Anne (Dennis) Chapman, Kathleen Stoddart, Patrick (Nikki) Liedl, Betsy Liedl (Leon Scheffers), Mary Rachel Liedl (Joe Young), Mark (Lina) Liedl, Susan (Matt) Larkin and Sarah (Robert) Klonowski; mother-in-law, Betty Minkel; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Patsy Liedl; a nephew, Mathew McCann; a sister-in-law, Sandra Hrudka; and father-in-law, Victor Minkel.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Cornerstone Church in Spooner, WI, Pastor Andrew Melton officiating, with interment in Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake, WI. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Friday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or St. Luke’s Hospital.
