James Michael Carlson (Mike/Catman), age 59, of Osceola, Wisconsin, passed away on June 5, 2023.

Mike was born on November 22, 1963 to Jim and Joy Carlson at St. Paul Ramsey Hospital, St Paul, MN.

Mike grew up in Shafer and the Lindstrom area for most of his life and attended Chisago Lakes Schools.

Mike enjoyed working on cars, be it mechanical or body work. Another favorite of his was the “Green Bay Packers”, and he wore his hat proudly along with collecting other “Packer” items to put around his apartment. So, the rival began with his Minnesota families, calling him when the two teams played, teasing him about his “choice”!!

In 1986, Mike recovered from a serious accident, although handicapped in many ways, he overcame many obstacles and went onto Pine City Vo-Tech and received his GED and studied to advance himself for employment. Then he moved to Floodwood, MN where he would work for his uncle, Bud. Mike worked very hard to live independently with his family always on the sidelines cheering him on to help him accomplish that wish of his.

Mike will be dearly missed by his family and friends he accumulated along the way of his journey through life.

Mike is survived by his brother, David (Deb) Sack; sisters, Carol (Mike) Borman and Vicki Carlson; many nephews, cousins and friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, James Carlson and mother, Joy Carlson.

Family will hold a private burial and plan a celebration of life at a later date.
