In Memory of James J. Bujniewicz
James Bujniewicz, age 81, of Winter, WI passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at his home.
James Joseph Bujniewicz was born February 26, 1941, in Chicago, IL the son of Frank and Sally (Wolnik) Bujniewicz.
He was raised in Berwyn, IL and attended school there. He joined the U.S. Marines and served for several years. After his time in the service, he settled in North Riverside, IL where he worked as a butcher. On August 21, 1965, James was joined in marriage to Judith R. Gries in North Riverside. James was then co-owner and operator of Super Steer Meat Market in Berwyn IL, during which James and Judith managed the Berwyn Barons football team. In 1973 James and family moved to Winter, WI where he continued his skills of processing meat at the IGA Grocery Store, owned and operated by cousins Jim and Bonnie Ruby. In 1976 to 1979 he managed the Rustic Inn before logging and construction. Then James went back to being a butcher at the Winter Coop before retiring. James was an avid musky fisherman and was known as “Musky Jim” to family and friends. He enjoyed collecting and polishing crystals and minerals and old coins and finding there significant meaning and value.
He was also intrigued by Frank Lloyd Wright, the architect. James loved to design and build his own windows and wooden structures in his free time. He was also fascinated with church windows, stain glass, and the gargoyles that protected the buildings.
Through the years he has collected every hard cover novel of Stephen King, an american author.
James is survived by his two daughters, Denise Johnson of Winter, WI, Tracy Bujniewicz of Madison, WI; two grandchildren, Mitchell Johnson and Madison Johnson; brother, Frank Martin (Laura) Cesal; sister, Frances Demars; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy; two sisters, Diana Miles and Arlene Tulupan.
A private interment will take place for James at a later date.
