In Memory of Jack C. Kendall
Jack C. Kendall passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family, on Sunday, November 13, 2022.
Jack was born in his grandmother’s farmhouse to Ernie Kendall and Helen (Hopp) Kendall on July 7, 1933.
He grew up primarily in the Little Round Lake area, big brother to 5 siblings.
He attended Hayward schools and graduated as class president from Hayward High School in 1951. In 1954 he married his sweetheart Barbara Rose Dorazio and they started their family.
Jack worked a variety of jobs including managing the 5RK ranch, delivering milk for the Spooner Creamery, and delivering bread. He later became a driver and then manager of the Hayward Redi-Mix until he retired in 1995.
Jack was a devoted family man and husband. He and Barb worked tirelessly to provide a home for their family. He provided a strong model of love, honesty, and integrity.
Jack also modeled community service for his children. He served as the Town of Round Lake treasurer, a member of the church council at S. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and the board of directors of the Hayward Community Credit Union. Jack was a talented musician who was able to play a variety of instruments. He enjoyed Saturday night dances with Barb, collecting antiques, gardening (his yard was a local attraction), bird watching, and driving down Peninsula Road to see what was going on in the neighborhood.
He is survived by his children, Jacquelyn (Julie Morris) Kendall, Michael Kendall, Tina (Joe) Coyle, Nick (Lynda) Kendall, and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara; son, Peter; and daughters Terry and Brenda.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hayward Regional Hospice.
