In Memory of Howard L. Fry


April 3, 1949 - April 28, 2022

Howard L. Fry, age 73, of Winter, WI passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at his home with his wife and children at his side.

Howard Lee Fry was born April 3, 1949, in Tomahawk, WI the son of Harold and Isabelle (Gavin) Fry.

In his youth he was educated in Tomahawk and then West Bend, WI. After his schooling he began work at Ataco Steel where he began training as a welder. On March 29, 1985, Howard was joined in marriage to Ann M. Falevsky in West Bend, WI. Howard would work as a welder for the rest of his career for Magnatech, a division of Maysteel, and later for Maysteel Inc in Menomonee Falls. Howard and Ann lived in West Bend, Lomira and then Theresa, WI while Howard was working. In the early 2000’s they purchased hunting land near Winter, WI. In 2018, Howard retired, and he and Ann moved to Winter, WI. Howard was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed deer hunting, duck hunting with his labs, camping, and fishing for muskie. Howard also enjoyed riding his Goldwing motorcycle, watching western movies, listening to Elvis Presley, putzing with projects around the home and hunting land, and spending time with his dogs, Molly and SuzieQ. He was a Green Bay Packer fan who knew how to tell a story.

Howard is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ann; five children, Janie (Ron) Sternig of Plymouth, WI, Lisa (Steve) Schmidt of Cascade, WI, Tanya Fry of Madison, SD, Scott (Becky) Fry of Eden, WI, Brian Fry of Lomira, WI; seven grandchildren, Travis, Taylor, Andrew, Brittani, Melissa, Shelby and Laci; two step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; siblings, Harold (June) Fry, Richard Fry, Carol Duranceau, Sandra (Butch) Malzahn, Chuck Fry; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Milton, Herbie, Mike, Francis; three sisters, Gloria Netzband, Tessa Rogers, Tamme Svec; and one grandson, Justin Schmidt.  

Howard’s family is planning a “Howard Lee Fry Day” to be held this summer for close family and friends to gather.
