In Memory of Helen M. Ruprecht


February 10, 1941 - April 19, 2022

Helen Mae Ruprecht, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s in Duluth, Minnesota.

She was born on February 10, 1941 in Birnamwood, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Giese) Popelka. She was united in marriage to Quentin Ruprecht on September 10, 1960 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward, WI.

Helen managed the food service program at Holy Family School in Green Bay, Wisconsin, while also running Silver Beach Resort on Middle Eau Claire Lake in Barnes for many years. She liked to listen to country music and enjoyed line dancing. Helen also enjoyed crafting, reading, and watching sports, especially golf and her beloved Green Bay Packers. She loved going to festivals and craft sales. Helen enjoyed tending her flower gardens and feeding the hummingbirds. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and cherished spending time baking cookies and playing cards with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Quentin; children, Julie (Jim) Johnson of Barnes, WI, Todd (Julie Hall) Ruprecht of Barnes, WI, and Jodi (Thomas) Aumann of Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren, Nicole, Heather, Dylan, Katelyn, Kristen, LeeAnna, and Hannah; step-grandchildren, Blake, Christian, Amber, and Graham; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Natalie; siblings, Joe (Cathy) Popelka of Oconomowoc, WI and Jodell Daniels of Wichita, KS; sister-in-laws, Barbara Popelka of Cable, WI and Paula Stuettgen of Eau Claire, WI.

In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Banks; brothers, Roger Popelka and Robert Popelka; and grandson, Adam Johnson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 25, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward, where visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of Mass. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward.
