In Memory of Hazel L. Andersen
Hazel L Andersen, 93, of Clayton passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022.
She was born February 15, 1929 to Walter and Clara (Mewes) Lewis.
She attended the Clayton schools and in 1947 married Orville Andersen. She worked with Orville at the Chevrolet garage in Turtle Lake and together raised their three sons.
Hazel loved flowers of all varieties, but especially her yellow rose bush. She was known for her sewing and figurine collection and was a consummate hostess, always making sure there were fresh baked goods for visitors. She watched Wheel of Fortune whenever possible and enjoyed going to garage sales. She and Orville were famous for their own garage sales. She very much loved her family and her pets.
Hazel is survived by her three sons: David (Linda) Andersen, Daniel (Rita) Andersen, and Tracy (Sheryl) Andersen; grandchildren: Jennifer (Ben) Golden, Jonathan (Jessie) Andersen, Bradley (Laura) Andersen, Pamela (Jason) Kreier, James (Maria) Andersen, Kevin (Beryn Scott) Andersen, Chad (Stacie) Andersen, Kayla (Jason) Benson; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Shirley Lewis; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Clara Lewis; husband: Orville Andersen; brothers: Melvin and Vernon Lewis; and sister: Joy Brekke.
Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clayton Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Greg Becker officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 AM at the church.
Skinner Funeral Home of Turtle Lake is serving the family.
