In Memory of Glen C. Ruid
Glen Charles Ruid Age 86, of Rice Lake, WI, died Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in Cumberland, WI.
He was born on July 7, 1936 to William and Sena (Nelson) Ruid.
Glen graduated from Barron High School in 1954. Glen entered the United States Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Kay Kahl on December 21, 1957 in Prairie Farm, WI. Glen worked for Farm and Fleet as an Assistant Manager for over 30 years, worked for Bargain Bill’s in Rice Lake and drove school bus. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packer, Wisconsin Badgers and the Milwaukee Brewers. He had a great sense of humor, loved to play quarter machines, enjoyed winters in Arizona and Mexico, was a member of the boxing club for Parkinson’s, and loved being with his family. He was a member of the Rice Lake Veteran Honor Guard, a member of the Rice Lake Elk’s Lodge and Rice Lake Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Ruid; 3 sons, Bryant Ruid, Jim (Nicole) and Don Ruid; a daughter, Debra Ruid; 5 grandchildren, Brandi, Austin, Ella, Sena and Sam; 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Norma Johnson; many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sena Nelson; 2 brothers, Gayle and Dean Ruid.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Sue Eidahl officiating, with interment and Military Rites will be accorded him at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI. Visitation will be held from 9-11AM Tuesday at the church.
Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is assisting the family with the arrangements. The family would like to thank Cumberland Care and Rehab and St. Croix Hospice for all the love and care they gave to Glen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Rock Steady Boxing St. Croix Valley or the Rice Lake Veterans Center.
