In Memory of Geralyn P. Pett
Geralyn Pauline “Gerry” Pett, 97, of Comstock passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at United Pioneer Home.
She was born July 16, 1926 in Bone Lake Township, WI to Louis and Hazel (Gregersen) Lund.
She went to La Follette school for eight grades and graduated from Luck High in 1944. Gerry worked for a short time in Minneapolis as a stenographer.
She was married in Bone Lake, WI on May 22, 1948, to Paul Pett. They had four children: Trudy, Bruce, Todd, and Cheryl.
Many of her years were spent working on the farm with her husband, Paul. After years of farming, retirement years were spent doing some of her favorite things like gardening, sewing, golfing in Cumberland, both ladies league and couples league. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church at Pipe Lake where she was involved in their LWML and the yearly chicken dinner every October.
In 1988, when her husband retired they traveled to Arizona. At times to Lake Havasu City, but mostly Mesa for 33 years. While there she learned bridge and Mah Jongg. Gerry played Mah Jongg weekly for many years with her friends, Julie, Barb, Karen, and Jan.
She is survived by husband, Paul; daughters: Trudy (Lloyd) Popenhagen and Cheryl (Mike) Giraud; sons: Todd (Billie) and Bruce; grandchildren: Angela (Dave) Moeri, Adam (Cathie) Popenhagen, Mackenzie (Adrian) Leiter, and Mallory Pett; great grandchildren: Courtney, Brandon, Breanna, and Ashton; sister, Merlyn; brother, Jim. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Vernon, Phyllis, Don, Lloyd, and Clarice.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Christ Lutheran Church - Pipe Lake (Comstock) with Pastor Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Rouzer, Tom Rouzer, Janet Olson, Barb Becker, and Karen Koch. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Monday, September 25, 2023, at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland, and one hour before the service at the church.
