In Memory of George 'Lenny' Quinn


October 22, 1937 - April 12, 2022

George “Lenny” Quinn Age 84, of Barron, WI, died peacefully and unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at his home.

He was born on October 22, 1937 in Washburn County, WI to Edward and Alice (St. Claire) Quinn.

Lenny contracted polio at 7 years old but continued on to graduate from Rice Lake High School. Lenny continued his education at the Milwaukee Technical School to obtain his Watchmakers license of Wisconsin in 1960. While working in Milwaukee, he met Dolly and had 2 daughters. After moving back to Brill, fathered 2 sons. While working at Zimmerman Jewelers, he had the opportunity to open his own store in Spooner in the late 60’s and later expanded into Cumberland. He married Sharon in 1992. He retired after 50 years in a career as a watchmaker and jeweler. He cherished every customer he had and remembered every piece of jewelry he worked on.

He is survived by 3 children, Deb (Art/ “Buck”) Truitt, Kathie (Tom) Brown and Ed (Tammy) Quinn; 6 grandchildren, Tom, Heather, Alan, Samantha, Chris and Matt; many great grandchildren; extended family, Ron (Cathy) Barker and Bonnie Baartman; a sister, Miki Quinn; many nephews and nieces; his special canine friend, Babe.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Dolores and Sharon; a son, Daniel Quinn; stepson, Donald Barker; parents, Edward and Alice; a brother, James Quinn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI, Father Ed Anderson officiating, with interment in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Tuesday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church.
