In Memory of George Hlavac


January 11, 1938 - August 27, 2019

George A. Hlavac, age 81, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at his residence near Cable, WI.  He was born January 11, 1938 in Berwyn, IL, the son of George and Marie (Pesek) Hlavac.  He was united in marriage to Virginia Marie Radecki on October 3, 1959 at St. Mary’s Church in Riverside, IL. 

George proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  He and his family owned and operated Headly Manufacturing, once located in Cicero, now located in Broadview.  George enjoyed trips to Cable since the age of ten, and later built a second home on Garden Lake.  He was at peace in the Northwood’s and enjoyed all the outdoor activities.  George was very proud of his family and the many friendships that he shared throughout his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Virginia “Ginny” Hlavac of Cable, WI and Oak Brook, IL; a daughter Kim (Steve) Ferguson of Cable, WI and Burr Ridge, IL; a sister Ilene (Albert) Giusfredi of Oak Brook, IL;  beloved dogs Bentley & BooBoo and many dear family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 30, 2019 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Cable where visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of Mass.  Rev. Dean Buttrick celebrant.  Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Northwood’s Humane Society, 10812N O’Brien Road, Hayward, WI 54843.  Hayward Regional Hospice, 15910 W Company Lake Road, Hayward, WI 54843
