Genevieve “Gene” Galetka Age 93, of Rice Lake, WI, died Saturday, January 29, 2022 in Rice Lake.

She was born on October 4, 1928 in Stevens Point, WI to Felix and Martha Buzza.

Gene graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Stevens Point. She was married on January 28, 1950 to George McBride and he passed away on August 27, 1975. On October 6, 1990 she married Louis Galetka Jr and he later preceded her in death. Gene was a nurse's aide for many years at High Ridge Hospital and Nursing Home in Racine. She enjoyed fishing, listening to polka and country music and a special Dachshund dog named Molly.

She is survived by 2 sons, George (Kim) McBride of Franksville, WI and Richard McBride of the Philippines; 2 daughters, Nancy Jastrow of Appleton, WI and Linda Vaughn of Rice Lake; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; son-in-law, James Vaughn; parents; 2 sisters; 2 brothers.

Private family services will be held.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is handling the services for the family.
