In Memory of Gary L. Fredrickson

August 22, 1946 - April 24, 2024

Gary L. Fredrickson, age 77, of Amery, Wisconsin went to Heaven on April 24, 2024 after a 5 year battle with cancer. His loved ones take peace that he is now completely pain free.

Gary was born on August 22, 1946 to Edwin and Betty Fredrickson in Amery, and he grew up in the Amery area on a farm. He graduated from Amery High School in 1964. After graduation, Gary spent four years in the US Navy as a Radioman on the USS Seattle Ship. He later worked and retired from Lester’s Building Systems.

Before he became disabled, Gary would ice fish for large fish, deer hunt, and talk about tractors and drink beer. He was a member of the Apple River Community Church. Gary loved collecting tractors—including toy tractors, full size tractors, and garden tractors. He also loved old cars and western shows, especially Gun Smoke.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joanne Maveus and Mary Fredrickson; and brother-in-laws, Vernon Wilson and Virgil Wilson.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bonnie (Anderson/Meyer), and close family: Tracy Dusek, Loren, and Myla Rose; Kaitlynn Filkins-Peper, Justin and Vaughn; Nick Filkins and Sutter; Caitlyn Dusek and Merle (Alex Paulson, McKenna, and Melvin); Sam Dusek; and Rachel and Rider Cain. Gary is also survived by his siblings, Duane, Ken “Tucker” & Marshell, Randy & Marie, and Sarah, as well as his in-laws, Loren & Renee Anderson, Ron & Nancy Wilson, Deb (Vernon) Wilson, Eva (Virgil) Wilson, and Roger Maveus. Gary’s dogs, Freddie and Emma, will miss him so much.

A Celebration of Life will take place from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the Apple River Community Church in Amery, Wisconsin. The burial will take place at a later date.
