Gale Lawrence Forward Age 81, of Sarona, WI, died Thursday, December 14, 2023 at his home.

He was born on August 27, 1942 to Ernest and Edna (Zettel) Forward. Gale graduated from Birchwood High School in Birchwood, WI in 1960. He was married to JoAnn Martinson in March 1964 in Long Lake, WI. Gale was a welder for many years at Time Savers in Crystal, MN. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, reading, ATVing, snowmobiling, traveling and being on/enjoying the lake.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Forward; a son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Elise Forward; 2 granddaughters, Hannah and Amelia; 2 brothers, Eugene (Arlene) Forward and Greg (Carol) Forward; a sister, Barb Zercher; 3 sisters-in-law, Dorie Forward, Darlene Martinson and Mary Fromenthal; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Edna Forward; a brother, Curtis Forward; a sister, Gertrude Hoff; 3 brothers-in-law, Chris Zercher, Rudy Hoff and Will Fromenthal; a nephew, Thomas Forward.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Long Lake Lutheran Church in Sarona,WI, Rev. Rodger Prois officiating, with interment in the Long Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Wednesday. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements.
