In Memory of Fern C. Hanson
Fern Hanson passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Jan 6th, 2023 at the age of 90.
Fern graduated high school in St Croix Falls, WI, class of 1951. That is where she met the love of her life Richard Hanson. They were married Nov 7, 1952. Richard went into the Army and they lived in Tennessee. They moved back to Minnesota after he was out of the service. For most of this time they lived in a home that they built together in Taylors Falls, MN. Fern worked as a bank teller and then for many years as a bookkeeper for her husband Richard’s accounting business. Together they raised 3 daughters, Susan, Sharon and Sara.
After retirement they spent their winter months in AZ, enjoying many activities with Robert and Helen Hanson. Fern adored spending time with her 6 grandkids especially in AZ, where they could explore the area together. Fern loved many activities including bingo, playing cards, Majong, and going to the movies with friends. Fern enjoyed traveling and tending to her flower gardens and her neighbors’ flower gardens. She spent her last few years at the Lodges of Taylors Falls where she had many friends and excellent staff to assist her. Fern was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by many.
She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Richard V Hanson; siblings; parents and many friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Mark) Becker, Sharon ( Carl) Lindgren and Sara (Brian) Olson; grandchildren, Joshua Bushweiler, Justin Becker, Khrystyne Lindgren, Nicholas Lindgren, Andrew Olson and Luke Olson and great-grandson, Tyler Bushweiler.
Memorial preferred to a charity of your choice or First Presbyterian Church, St. Croix Falls, in memory of Fern.
