Beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, godmother, friend, and exceptionally talented artist: Elizabeth Evonne Gilbertson of South Amboy, New Jersey passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

Evonne was born on June 11, 1943, in St. Paul, MN to William and Elizabeth Vanda. Family and art were Evonne's passions. She lived life to its fullest and leaves behind a beautiful loving family and many cherished keepsakes of her creative legacy. She kept her life surrounded by bright colors, especially serene yellow.

Evonne even furthered her art and craft talents as an Activities Director in a care center.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Jean Hagen; son, Eric William Gilbertson; grandson, Colin (Abby) Hagen; great-granddaughter, Evaline Jean. She also leaves behind her two very cherished sisters: Patricia "Patty" Locher, and Karon Ann Rothbauer; Godchildren: Joleen Kotoski, and Mark Rothbauer, as well as many nieces and nephews. Evonne was preceded in death by her very beloved parents, William and Elizabeth Vanda; and Allen Hagen.

Throughout the years, Evonne showed love, kindness, and support to everyone she knew. She cherished her family and friends. Always created beautiful artworks, clothing clever crafts, and chocolates for family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Skinner Funeral Home in Turtle Lake with Deacon Steve Linton officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 AM - 1 PM. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family or favorite charity are greatly appreciated.
