Ellen Jane Roberts, 62, of Cable, passed away peacefully at Waters Edge Care Center on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, with her husband by her side.

Jane was born March 2, 1961, in Hayward, Wisconsin the daughter of Frederick Poppe and Kristine (Olson) Poppe. She married the love of her life, Jim Roberts, on August 25, 1990, and built a wonderful life together in Cable, WI.

Many remember her as the smiling face behind the counter at R Place Cafe, but Jane was also a devoted wife, an incredible mom and the best grandma. She had so many of her “kids” she claimed in the world. They were friends of her children, people in need that spent time with her or those she had a special connection with. She loved her “kids” and often called them her favorites- even jokingly over her own children.

She loved vacations with her family, riding Harley with her husband, pool days in the summer and any chance to spend time with family.

Jane leaves to celebrate her memory, her husband, Jim Roberts, children, Cricket Withington, and Brittany (Malcolm) Haag. Grandchildren, JT Lampson, Kallie Hedman, Paityn Conner, McKenna Hedman, Caeden Haag, and Finnian Haag. Her father, five siblings, nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kristine Poppe, niece, Tanya Poppe and son in law, James Withington.

We will miss her fiery spirit that she held onto right until her last moments.
