Elaine Grensing Age 95, of Rice Lake, WI, died Sunday, September 25, 2022 at her home with her husband of 73 years of marriage by her side.

She was born on June 11, 1927 in Rice Lake to Herbert and Elsie (Klefstad) Johnson.

Elaine graduated from Rice Lake High School 1943 and was married to Vernon Grensing on September 16, 1949 in Rice Lake. Elaine worked for Johnson Truck Bodies in Rice Lake for 8 years where her father was the founder of the company and that is where she met her future husband, Vernon. Elaine was a legal secretary for Red Owl Stores, Inc in Hopkins, MN from 1952-1985. Elaine was a longtime member of Immanuel, now Trinity Lutheran Church, since 1932. She was in the choir and taught Sunday School. Elaine was active in the quilting program of the church for Lutheran World Relief, was a day manager for Yours, Mine and Ours Thrift Store since 1995.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon Grensing; a sister, Dorothy (David) Woods; sister-in-law, Glenna Johnson; brother-in-law, Ed Peters; many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Elsie Johnson; sisters and brothers, Lenore Olson, Donald Johnson, Margery Wade, Genevieve Israel, Allan Johnson, Joyce Peters, Donald Johnson and an infant brother, David Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Jane Snowden and Rev. Janelle Harrison officiating, with interment in Orchard Beach Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is assisting the family with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Marshfield Medical Center Hospice in Rice Lake would be appreciated.
