In Memory of Edward J. Lastufka
Edward James Lastufka, of Rice Lake, WI, was born to eternal life on Sunday, October 23, 2022 in Rice Lake at the age of 91.
Edward was born on September 11, 1931 to Stanley and Helen Lastufka.
Proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Ed was sent to fight in the Korean Conflict and served as a telegraph lineman. After Ed returned from Korea, he met his soon-to-be wife, Eileen and they were married in Milwaukee on January 21, 1956 and were blessed with six children. Ed worked many years as a machinist at various companies. After he retired, he moved with his wife back to his home town. Ed loved golf, fishing, hunting, playing horseshoes, watching baseball, watching stockcar racing and his job as crossing guard for the elementary school. Ed was a member of the Moose Lodge and VFW post.
Ed is survived by his children, Patricia (Bryon) Noeske, Steven (Patricia) Lastufka, Donald (Lauren) Lastufka, James (Jill) Lastufka; Cynthia (Giulio) Leonardelli and Karen (Thomas) Kruszka; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; brothers Bob Lastufka and Stanley Lastufka and sisters Pat Weseli and Dorothy Buxton and many nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by Eileen, his wife of 65 years, his parents and a step granddaughter.
The family would like to thank his caregivers throughout the years, especially Judy and Rhonda.
Mass of Christian burial will be held November 10, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m.
Visitation will be from 10:00 until time of service. Interment with Military Honors at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery at 2:00.
