In Memory of Ed J. Haughian
Ed Joseph Haughian Age 80, of Rice Lake, died Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in Rice Lake.
Ed was born on December 20, 1941 in Rice Lake To Joseph and Lorraine (Konop) Haughian.
He graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1958 and then joined the United States Army and was later Honorably Discharged. Ed married Cheryl Guns on June 6, 1981 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He ran a successful dairy farm north of Rice Lake for many years. He sold the farm in 1997 and built a house and worked at Moberg Electric for several years. Ed enjoyed reading, cooking, singing, mowing the lawn, driving around the neighborhood in his truck, hunting and gardening (especially with his kids and grandkids). You could find him in his recliner chair reading the newspaper or a new book, yelling during a Packer game or snoring very loudly. He always said the best part of getting old was enjoying the grandkids and great grandkids telling them to “Give Em Pie”!.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Cheri of 41 years; children, Tonya (Alvaro) Armas, Lisa (Tom) Hedinger, Jodi (Dan) Widiker, Todd (Jennifer) Herricks and Dan (Shanna) Haughian; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Manuel (Ali), Vanessa and Anamaria Armas, Kayla (Joe) and Liam Ramson, Brittney (Paul) Carter, Hayden and Raelynn Keeley, Janae Widiker, Tyler (Mady) Herricks, Brianna (Douglas) and Wilhelm Iverson, Preston (Payton), Sean, Isaac and Caleb Herricks, Tytan and Isabella Haughian; siblings, Mary Lou (Bob) Gabriel and Michael (Betty) Haughian; plus many special nephews and nieces; and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lorraine Haughian; step mother, Leah Demars; brothers, Patrick and Wayne Haughian; and a niece, Renee Gabriel.
He had a heart of gold and will be missed by all. He leaves a hole in our hearts. Thanks for all the great memories and moments. We will cherish them forever.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI, Father Ed Anderson, Father Dennis Mullen and Father Dave Oberts officiating, with interment in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-7PM at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake.
