Edward Daniel, 80, of Cumberland, died Monday, January 16, 2023, at Essentia Health - Duluth.

He was born June 20, 1942, in Chicago Heights, IL, to Donald and Versie (Wedding) Daniel. He was married in Cumberland on November 16, 1974 to Carol Flottum who preceded him in death on May 26, 2014.

Ed worked as an upholsterer for many years, owning his own shop in Cumberland and also working at Olson’s Upholstery and Tint in Rice Lake. He also managed the car wash in Cumberland for over 20 years. Ed spent long hours and many miles driving semi from coast to coast (he really disliked the east coast) and made some of his closest friends doing so. He enjoyed spending his time with his friends in the Countryside Park and sitting around a fire in the summer. Riding 4-wheeler and going deer hunting were things that he was always up for doing. At the end of the day spending time with his grandkids was his number one choice above all others.

He is survived by his sons, Jim (Amanda) Daniel of Superior and Alan (Fran) Daniel of Tulsa, OK; 3 grandchildren, Emilee, Abigayle and James Daniel; brother Ben (Laura) Daniel, along with nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Tom and Bob Daniel.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church, Cumberland, WI with Rev. Timothy Schmidt officiating and burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Cumberland. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers are Jim Daniel, Ben Daniel, Paul Flottum, Phil Flottum, Chris Flottum, Andy Flottum. Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland is serving the family.
