In Memory of Duane V. Johnson
Duane Vernon Johnson from Grantsburg died in his home on June 3 at the age of 83.
Duane worked at the Farmer Independent Telephone Company in Grantsburg.
He was a wonderful husband and father. He loved hunting and fishing. He was a talented handyman, excelled in woodworking and in his retirement years he enjoyed wood carving.
As a young boy he trusted Jesus as his savior. John 14:6 Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Duane’s greatest desire and prayer has always been that his family and friends would come to understand that Jesus paid their sin debt on the cross and only by surrendering their hearts to Him would they be able to have eternal life with Him.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl of 57 years; sons, Daniel and James; their wives, Beth and Sharilee; 4 grandchildren, Cassie, Jed, Caleb and Evan; two sisters, Susan Heinecke and Jane Bell; several nieces and nephews; along with other relatives and many friends.
No service is planned at this time.
Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home.
