In Memory of Dorothy P. Rischette


August 18, 1934 - November 10, 2023

Dorothy Philomena Rischette, 89, of Barron, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023 at Monroe Manor.

She was born August 18, 1934 at home in Almena to Charles & Veronica (Weber) Stauner. Dorothy was the 9th of 13 children. She was married on August 23, 1952 to William Rischette, who preceded her in death on October 30, 1985.

For 33 years, Dorothy was a farmwife working side by side her husband. After William's passing, she went back to school and became a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Barron Extended Care, Maplecroft and Monroe Manor, retiring at age 75. Hard work was her way of life.

Dorothy will be remembered for being a devout Catholic, a true prayer warrior, along with her massive beautiful flower gardens that were appreciated and adored by anyone passing by her home in Barron.

Dorothy loved with her whole heart and soul. Her family was truly blessed with the most loving, giving, caring and kind-hearted Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma. Her greatest tragedies in life were losing those she loved especially the love of her life and husband, William, of 33 years and her 2 ½ year old great-granddaughter in 2009, Wren Sprague, who she called Darling.

Dorothy is survived by her 3 daughters: Jane Wescott of Dallas, Sharon (Harlond) Millermon of Barron and Nancy Bellefeuille (Mike Kuhl) of Barron; 9 grandchildren: Christina Hansen, Amanda Gagner, Bethany (Brian) Braden, Ashley (Christopher) Hoveland, Adam (Jessica) Millermon, Erica (Jace) Sinclair, Sara (Dayne) Berg, Kayla Bellefeuille and David Bellefeuille; 9 great-grandchildren: Owen Sprague, William Hoveland, Ava Hoveland, Cruz Puddicombe, Grant Sinclair, Elsie Millermon, Ruger Bellefeuille, Caleb Berg and Kasen Berg; 4 siblings: Bonnie Bartylla of Barron, Charlotte Anderson of Barron, Gerhardt (Mary Alice) of Minnetonka, MN and Veronica St. Louis of Cameron; one sister-in-law, Barbara Stauner; and many nieces and nephews with special thanks to those that continued to visit faithfully at Monroe Manor.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Tom Wescott; 4 brothers: Leo, Raymond, Francis and Paul Stauner; 4 sisters: Mary Petersen, Irene Michener, Agnes Feidt and Odelia Rischette; all of her brothers and sisters-in-law on the Rischette side.

A funeral service for Dorothy Rischette will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Barron. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 4:00 — 7:00 pm at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Almena.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
