In Memory of Dorothy DuBois
Dorothy DuBois, age 94, of Spooner, WI, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Glenview Assisted Living in Shell Lake, WI.
Dorothy was born on January 19, 1930, in Minneapolis, MN to parents, Samuel and Ethel (Bates) Swonger. Dorothy grew up in Spooner, WI and graduated from Spooner High School in 1948. She was a homemaker through most of her life having raised 8 children. She had also taken various jobs as a waitress and bartender before becoming a dietary aid at the Spooner Hospital until her retirement.
Dorothy was well known for her elaborate hat collection, each one decorated with various pins and jewels. She enjoyed the outdoors with a special interest in gardening, hunting, and fishing. In her youth Dorothy also loved to go out dancing.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Daryl (Melodie) Clayton, Sharon Uchytil, Glen (Kay) Clayton, Pamela Uchytil, Randy (Teresa Rue-Wallace) Clayton, Ricky (Renee Whalen) Clayton, and Becky (Tim Niemi) Cuturia; sister Wilma Foster; and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Joseph Blair and Albert DuBois; son, Delmer Clayton; 2 grandchildren; and 5 siblings.
A visitation will take place at the Spooner Funeral Home on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM with a burial at the Earl Cemetery to follow.
