Donna Mae Vonderheid, 86, who was born on January 3, 1937 to Roy and Katherine (Gebhardt) McClelland in Dunn County, WI, sadly passed away on October 20, 2023 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI from COPD complications.

On November 2, 1957, she married Carl Vonderheid at Sarona Methodist Church in Sarona, WI. Together they raised two children, Jeryl and Jolene. In Donnas early years she worked as a nurse’s aid at Lakeside Hospital in Rice Lake, WI and was a homemaker for the rest of her years. Her and Carl had a black angus hobby farm and a beautiful garden in Sarona, WI. Every Fall Donna enjoyed canning the bountiful crop from her garden. Donna and Carl enjoyed dancing and playing cards. After Carl’s death in 1991, Donna appreciated and enjoyed the many friends who stopped for coffee and conversation, as she was a homebody.

Donna is survived by her son, Jeryl (Sherri) Vonderheid of Eau Claire; daughter, Jolene (Kraig) Scribner of Birchwood; grandchildren Kyle (Amy) Scribner, Karisa (Matthew) Zoellick, and Carlee Jo (Josh) Vonderheid; great-grandchildren Skye, Maya, and Wyatt Scribner and Thomas Zoellick; and several nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Ronald and Leonard; and sister Marian Hulsey.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 2:00 pm with visitation starting at 12:00 pm at Skinner Funeral Home in Shell Lake, WI. Burial will follow at the Sarona Cemetery. Please bring stories and memories to share at the Celebration of Life Service.

Thank you to her neighbors, Rob Adler and family, Bob and Deb VanBeek and Johnny Moravec for looking after her so she could continue to live at home. Special thank you to the 7th floor staff at Sacred Heart Hospital for the kindness and care they provided in Donna’s final days.
