In Memory of Diana L. Sherrell
Diana Lynne Sherrell was born in 1959, to Gladyce (Bos) Sherrell of Minong and Kenneth Sherrell in Springfield, IL. Most everyone knew the date was June 18th because it was the first thing Dee told anyone she would meet; she loved having her birthday celebrations with her family and friends. Dee was joyful and loving; her life was enhanced by people, music, and hugs for all.
Sincere appreciation is given to the kind caregivers, hospice, hospitals including ambulance transportation, social services, church, and many friends who through the years, helped Dee enjoy a good life and a comfortable one through her journey.
For the past 18 years Dee lived in Spooner in the caring home of Roger and Jemima Castleberg and their children Josiah, Mahalia, and Elianna, who all made Dee one of their family. They provided her the best of everything she would need and they love for one another always was apparent. Dee enjoyed worshiping, singing, and being with her church family at Shell Lake Full Gospel Church.
Dee also will be missed by her surviving family who loved her: brother John and Judy Sherrell (children, Darcy and Mike, Nathan and Karen, Andy and Renee, Matt and Lisa); sister, Sandy Crane (children Laurie and Jeff, Stephen); great nieces and nephews, Keely, Cody, Fiona, Finn, Clara, Ruby, and Emmett.
Dee was especially enjoyed by family during visits at the cabin and during the celebration of her favorite holiday, Christmas, when she would direct those gathered in the singing of Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus, followed by giving hugs to Santa. At mealtimes she always named everyone at the table during her prayer.
A celebration of Dee’s life will be held in Spooner this summer. Interment will be in her hometown of Springfield, IL.
